Leone Blu Suites | UNA Esperienze is born by the harmonious arrangement of antique elements and modern details. The result consists in nine spacious suites, each one designed in a unique way and located on the noble floor of the Ricasoli Palace.

Suite Rinieri

Power. The height, the breadth, the light, the view: everything in this suite conveys an idea of greatness and power, the same greatness and power that guided the fortunes and vicissitudes of Rinieri Ricasoli, the founder of this Palazzo back in 1474. Rinieri Ricasoli lived in the 15th century and was one of the most influential people in Florence under Lorenzo il Magnifico. He married Maddalena Vespucci, who belonged to the family of the great navigator Amerigo Vespucci and Simonetta Vespucci, whose face was the inspiration for Botticelli’s Venuses.

This suite measures 135 m2 and is arranged on two levels, looking onto Piazza Goldoni with a delightful view of the river Arno. The upper floor comprises the imposing double bedroom preceded by a large study, walk-in wardrobe, en suite bathroom with tub, shower, bidet and private wc. Category: Deluxe Suite River View.

The Secret Room. What is fascinating about this room is the reserve it expresses: a secluded intimate suite, despite its size. And the particularly charming glimpse of the river gives it an even greater feeling of secrecy. Giovan Battista Ricasoli was a bishop and an able diplomat.  In the 16th century he was counsellor to the Duke of Florence Cosimo I de’ Medici and ambassador of the Medicis in Paris, Madrid and Rome.

A leading light of the Ricasoli family, Baroness Giuliana lived between the end of the 19th and the middle of the 20th century. A very determined woman, she is often remembered as a great benefactress, in particular of the Red Cross, to whom she granted use of the Palazzo during the First World War.

In the 16th century Pandolfo Ricasoli was a Colonel for the military leader Gian Giacomo Medici, brother of the future Pope Pius IV, alongside whom he contributed to the victory of Florence over Siena, its age-old rival.
