Milan really starts buzzing during Fashion Week.
13 Sep 2019
Milan Fashion Week takes place in February and September each year and is one of the big four global fashion weeks which are the favourites of both Hollywood jet-setters and followers of high fashion.
Here's the Gruppo UNA rundown of Italy's Autumn Fashion Week 2019, highlighting some of our favourite runway designers and offering great advice on where to stay during Milan Fashion Week.
About Milan Fashion Week, Fall 2019.
The upcoming Milan Fashion Week in September focuses on Spring/Summer 2020 Collections, with Gucci, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Prada, Armani, and Fendi. With 50 or more shows at various locations in Milan, this year's runway shows are likely to be as opulent and flamboyant as ever. It's hardly surprising Italy's Fashion Weeks have such a huge reputation for extravagance and panache as design houses pull out all the stops to ensure the most impressive trip for their celeb and VIP clientele.
The Fashion Month always kicks off with New York, closely followed by London, Milan, and finally Paris. It has to be said though that Milan Fashion Week is probably the most glamorous of them all, as it attracts countless A-list celebrity attendees and features all the top models. After all, when it comes to style, fashion and pizazz, Italy really knows how to push the boat out.
Milan Fashion Week is a biannual event held in February and September, which is organised by non-profit Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. The fashion shows enable designers to showcase upcoming collections and allow buyers and high street fashion labels to pick up on the most popular designs and accessories for the following year's season.
