Gruppo UNA

Leone Blu Suites | UNA Esperienze, the new UNA Group proposal for the UNA Esperienze collection, embodies art, tradition and history. From 1474 to Palazzo Ricasoli some of the most famous protagonists of Italian history have resided: Lorenzo il Magnifico, Cosimo De ’Medici, Galileo Galilei and Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour. Among the salons and spacious rooms of this luxurious suite hotel in the heart of Florence, the history of illustrious personalities is inextricably intertwined with space, giving life to a unique context of its kind.

That's why the nine suites of Leone Blu Suites | UNA Esperienze are unrepeatable and absolutely original. Each of them is dedicated to the characters of the noble Ricasoli family and their role through the centuries. We invite you to discover which are the personalities of each suite and to find that wise combination of beauty, comfort and attention to detail that is more in tune and akin to you.

Below you will find the details and the history of 5 of them.

Discover Suite Rinieri.

The height, the breadth, the light, the view: everything in this suite conveys an idea of greatness and power, the same greatness and power that guided the fortunes and vicissitudes of Rinieri Ricasoli, the founder of this Palazzo back in 1474. Rinieri Ricasoli lived in the 15th century and was one of the most influential people in Florence under Lorenzo il Magnifico. He married Maddalena Vespucci, who belonged to the family of the great navigator Amerigo Vespucci and Simonetta Vespucci, whose face was the inspiration for Botticelli’s Venuses.

This suite measures 135 m2 and is arranged on two levels, looking onto Piazza Goldoni with a delightful view of the river Arno. The upper floor comprises the imposing double bedroom preceded by a large study, walk-in wardrobe, en suite bathroom.

The suite measures 96 m2 and is arranged on two airy sunlit levels, with coffered ceiling. Double or twin bedroom with spacious upstairs sitting room and small study with a charming view over Medieval Florence. Discover Suite Ugo.

Arno River and Gold. In this bedroom, it’s wonderful to fall asleep looking at the unusual details of this wooden ceiling, an austere construction softened by an unexpected floral decoration with charming gilded highlights making it unique. Cardinal Ugo Ricasoli, who lived in the 12th century, was a trusted counsellor to Pope Alexander III, for whom he was a mediator in the historic peace negotiations signed in Venice between the Pope and the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa.

Large suite with amazing View over the Arno and over Piazza Goldoni measures 80 m2 arranged on two levels. The sitting room is on the lower floor, with a spacious entrance hall and cloakroom. The double bedroom or twin bedroom is located on the upper floor overlooking the sitting room, with walk-in wardrobe, en suite bathroom with shower.

Suite Geremia.

Coup de Théâtre. The red curtains and the gilded antique pelmets transform the large windows into theatre wings which reveal, as in a coup de théâtre, the delightful view over the river Arno. Geremia d’Ildebrando, who lived around the year one thousand, was the Lombard founder of our family. He was the father of Ridolfo, from whom the descendants acquired the family name of “de filiis Rodulphi”, or Firidolfi.

This suite measures 75 m2 and is arranged on two levels with a view over the Arno. A raised sitting room separates the double bedroom from the living room and offers a view of the river. En suite bathroom with double shower and guest bathroom. An additional bed can be provided.
