Artissima is one of the most important contemporary art fairs in Italy. Now in its 30th year, over time the kermesse has become a reference point for art enthusiasts, attracting an increasingly large audience every year. 

When does Artissima start in Turin? The fair will be held at the OVAL Lingotto Fiere from 3rd to 5th November. The programme foresees the participation of almost 200 galleries: there will be award ceremonies, special projects and exhibitions scattered throughout the city.

Artissima 2023: galleries and sections

The four main sections of Artissima 2023 are Main Section, Monologue/Dialogue, New Entries and Art Spaces & Editions.

• Main Section brings together a selection of the main galleries of the global art scene.
• New Entries is dedicated to emerging galleries which are participating in the fair for the first time. Among the names to watch out for are Blue Velvet Project from Zurich, Romero Paprocki from Paris and South Parade from London, as well as the Italians Barbati from Venice, Eugenia Delfini from Rome, Fuocherello from Volvera and L.U.P.O. from Milan.
• Monologue/Dialogue is dedicated to emerging galleries which offer an experimental approach through a single-subject stand or a dialogue between two different ones.
• Art Spaces & Editions hosts galleries specialising in bookshops, non-profit spaces and artists' editions.

Three other sections, Disegni, Present Future and Back to the Future, will also be hosted on the digital platform. The 30th edition of Artissima will feature 181 Italian and international galleries.

The theme of this major event dedicated to contemporary art is Relations of Care. Developed by the anthropologis Renzo Taddei, it offers a point of view which identifies care as the premise for, and the ultimate goal of, the advancement of knowledge.

The projects of Artissima 2023 in Turin

Thanks to its dialogue with its partners, including the Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT and Gruppo UNA, Artissima gets in touch with the city of Turin through special exhibition projects: as you walk around the Piedmontese capital, you can discover new exhibitions.

Perché non Lilloni?

The Principi di Piemonte | UNA Esperienze will host Perché non Lilloni?, the result of the synergy between the Gruppo UNA hotel and Artissima. The Salone delle Feste will host a focus on Umberto Lilloni curated by Massimo Minini and the eponymous gallery.

The hotel is also the ideal starting point for exploring the city and the Artissima projects, boasting a prestigious location in the centre of Turin; it is also just over 6 km from the OVAL space. 

La condizione umana

Gallerie d'Italia will host the second edition of La condizione umana: an artistic film and video project conceived and produced in dialogue with the host venue. 

Dove finiscono le tracce

Dove finiscono le tracce is an exhibition which will be spread across the iconic cultural venues of Turin. The exhibition is structured as a rediscovery of the city through experiencing works of art preserved at GAM and the Castello di Rivoli. 

Artissima Junior

Artissima Junior, created in synergy with Juventus and now in its fifth edition, aims to bring children closer to the world of art. This year's theme bears the name BE NET and includes a workshop designed to develop the concepts of relationship and interaction.

Artissima 2023: tickets and theme

Tickets can be purchased on Vivaticket's website at the full price of €22.00 for a one-day admission, or €18.00 for those who are eligible for the discount: this category includes children aged 12 to 18, the over-65s, university students and holders of the Abbonamento Musei and the Torino + Piemonte Card. 

It is also possible to purchase a two-day pass for €35.00 and take advantage of the Special Friday promotion for one admission for €15.00. Children up to the age of 11 and disabled persons and accompanying persons will have free access.

Artissima 2023 is preparing to celebrate 30 years of support for contemporary art and a deep relationship with the city of Turin and national and international galleries. A must for fans of the industry, but also for the curious who want a unique experience.
