Milan, 21 May 2026 – UNA Italian Hospitality welcomes in the summer season with a major new project at UNA Hotels Capotaormina: the rooms at the historic hospitality venue in Sicily have been fully restyled to make the very best of the hotel’s unique charm and stunning scenery.
New rooms
Perched atop a rocky outcrop above the sea, with direct access to a private bay and spectacular views over Mount Etna and the coastline, the resort has always been one of the most iconic destinations in Sicily, if not the whole of Italy. The aim of the latest project in this scenario is to combine local heritage, contemporary comfort and first-class design. Launched in 2024, refurbishment work has now been completed for 73 of the hotel’s total 190 rooms.
It has involved completely upgrading the spaces, including flooring, bathrooms and fittings, to provide the highest possible standards of comfort, efficiency and quality.
The project’s core focus is on customised design: every detail has been chosen ad hoc, from chairs to daybeds, washbasins to closets, creating harmonious, practical, stylish spaces. The range of materials reflects the local landscapes and the natural light, blending wood and parquet, porcelain stoneware and brushed copper into a chic combination of warmth and modernity.
In charge of architectural and interior design aspects is Studio Ceccaroli Architettura, while customised furnishings and woodwork are provided by Concreta srl, and porcelain stoneware finishes and surfaces come from Marazzi and Porcelanosa, with the latter also supplying the bathroom fixtures and taps.
A unique, breathtaking destination
UNA Hotels Capotaormina offers an exclusive experience designed to ensure every guest’s stay is centred on comfort, relaxation and excellence, immersed in one of the most evocative settings in Sicily. The hotel’s outstanding facilities include a fully serviced private beach, accessible exclusively from the hotel via a striking tunnel carved out of the rocks, and leading to a salt-water infinity pool overlooking the sea.
The wellbeing experience continues on the panoramic sun terrace, with unparalleled views taking in Isola Bella, Etna and the Mediterranean, as well as at the Wellness Centre, a haven where guests can restore both body and mind with the help of tailor-made treatments and specialist techniques.
And the hotel’s cuisine is yet another forte: its three restaurants take diners on a voyage through Sicily’s authentically traditional flavours, all reworked with a contemporary twist. Le Grand Bleu, the iconic waterfront restaurant, serves up elegant fish-based dishes; the Naxos restaurant merges local specialities with international fare in a panoramic setting on the Gulf; while the Alcantara restaurant welcomes guests to its bountiful breakfast buffet. Completing the experience, three exclusive bars enable guests to kick back in truly unique locations: from Bar Spiaggia, ideal for a relaxing break on the seashore, to Bar Svevo, perfect for sunset cocktails with Etna as the backdrop, and poolside Bar L’Approdo, where sea and sky blend as one in an atmosphere of pure serenity.
Remodelling the rooms represents another strategic milestone on UNA Hotels Capotaormina’s growth journey: it continues to invest in quality and innovation to ensure its hospitality meets the needs of the contemporary traveller, without ever losing its historic identity and roots in the local area.
