Statement Concerning Cookies and Other Tracking Tools

This page describes how to manage the Website with reference to the use of Cookies and other tracking tools, as well as the related processing of Users’ personal data.

Please view our Website Privacy Statement on our Website to learn more about the Data Controller, the purposes, methods and legal bases of processing, the categories of personal data involved, the categories of recipients of personal data, if any, the retention period, and rights of Users as data subjects.

What Are Cookies and Other Tracking Tools

Cookies are small text files - which may include personal data (e.g. IP address, username, email address) and technical information (e.g. language settings, device type) - sent from the sites visited to the User’s terminal (computer or mobile device, such as a tablet or smartphone), where they are stored (e.g. in the browser’s memory) and sent back to the same sites at each subsequent visit. Cookies are used to perform functions such as computer authentication, session monitoring and to store information on sites (without the use of Cookies some actions would be highly complex or impossible to perform), also in order to identify preferences based on the User’s browsing experience. When browsing a Website, the User may also receive Cookies on his or her terminal that are managed and sent by other websites or web servers (referred to as “third parties”), which may contain certain elements (for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) found on the Website visited by the User.

There are also other tracking tools (e.g. “Fingerprinting”, “Pixel Tags”, “Plug-ins”) which, despite using a different technology, enable processing operations that are similar to those carried out using Cookies and achieve the same results. Unlike Cookies, these tools do not store information on the User’s device and may not be directly removed by the User through his or her browser settings; therefore, Users will need to exercise the right to withdraw authorisation for the use of these tools if they wish to change their preferences, by using the functions made available on the Website by the Data Controller.

Classification of other tracking tools

In general, these tools may be classified according to:

Type of tool

  • Cookies (active identifiers)
  • Other tracking tools (passive identifiers)

Origin

  • First party (or “Publisher”, i.e. the manager of the Website that the User is visiting)
  • Third party (operator of a different website that installs Cookies through the First-Party Website)

Duration

  • Session (temporary, they are deleted when the browser is closed or, in certain cases, when the logout command is executed)
  • Permanent (they will remain active until their expiration date or their deletion by the User)

Purposes pursued

  • Technical purposes (relating to the operation of the Website)
  • Non-technical purposes (such as the User browsing profile)

Cookies and other tracking tools used on our website

TECHNICAL COOKIES

Technical Cookies make it easier to use the Website and more simple to retrieve information, streamlining the connection and transmission of data between the User and the Website.

We use technical navigation Cookies on our website, which are strictly necessary to ensure normal navigation and the correct operation of the Website (e.g. login authentication), allowing Users to access the services offered (e.g. to get a quote).

Without the use of these Cookies, some Website services may not be accessible, may not be displayed correctly or may not function optimally.

We also use functionality, preference and localisation cookies, which allow Users to change the behaviour and appearance of the Website (e.g. preferred language, text or character size, geographical area in which the User is located), the lack of which will not affect browsing, but will make it less efficient and functional.

Session and persistent Cookies are classified in the category of Technical Cookies.

Prior User consent is not required for the installation of Technical Cookies.

We also inform you that you can block Cookies at any time through your browser settings; however, if you set your device to refuse these Cookies, some Website services may not be displayed correctly or may not function optimally. In particular, operations that make it possible to identify the User and maintain identification during the session may become more complex and less secure in the absence of Technical Cookies.

COOKIE ANALYTICS COOKIES

We use ANALYTICS COOKIES -  i.e. Cookies that are installed, among the possible uses, to evaluate the effectiveness of a service, to measure traffic (count the number of visitors by geographical area or based on other characteristics) on the Website or its most visited areas (for statistical purposes), so as to improve its content or usability, carry out anonymous “cross-device” analyses in order to offer Users a consistent experience across different devices used, and carry out analyses to make the Website more user-friendly, also in terms of user experience. Analytics Cookies are also used for the aggregation of User behaviour (referring to actions such as “clicks”, page “scrolling” and other interactions) on our Website pages regarding the browsing sessions and browser used, in order to promptly identify any usability or technical issues with a view to improving the accuracy and quality of the service offered.

Given that the use of these Cookies does not lead to the direct identification of the data subject (the information collected by these Cookies is used in aggregate form and therefore anonymously), they may be compared to Technical Cookies and, therefore, do not require prior acquisition of consent. Analytics Cookies also involve the direct identification of the data subject and are therefore classified in the category of non-technical Cookies; consequently, their use is subject to obtaining prior consent from the User.
We also inform you that these cookies are managed by Third Parties are both First Party and Third Party and are persistent Cookies, as they will remain active until their expiration date or deletion by the User.
Please note that you can consent to the use of only certain Cookies and other tracking tools, using the option to Customise your preferences: you can change your choices at any time, using the option to Change your preferences. In any case, you can always block these Cookies through your browser settings.

TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA TO COUNTIES OUTSIDE TO THE EUROPEAN UNION

Some Third Parties who have been authorised to provide services through the Cookies used on our Website, or other external parties involved by these Third Parties in the provision of the aforementioned services, may possibly receive and process your personal data in Third Countries (i.e. countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area).

If required, based on the purpose of the processing, your personal data will be transferred to Third Countries in compliance with the provisions of the applicable legislation in force, subject to suitable protection measures (e.g. an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission, or after the conclusion of  “Standard Contractual Clauses” between the data importer and data exporter).
We also inform you that personal data collected through the use of Cookies will not be disseminated.

LEGAL BASIS OF DATA PROCESSING

The legal basis for the processing of data collected on our Website through the use of non-technical Cookie and other tracking tools consists exclusively of the consent expressed by the data subject. In case of the use of technical Cookies and other tracking tools, the legal basis can be attributed to the Company's legitimate interest.
