The restyling project for Vesuvio Roof Bar & Restaurant involved perfecting the existing room, all with sustainability in mind: the existing Panga Panga parquet flooring was resurfaced and its original dark tones restored. Glossy ceramic tiles – green and white stripes for the reception desk, Naples yellow and white along the wall panels – give way to burnished metal inserts, metal meshing and charcoal grey window frames, melding industrial style with historic heritage.
All the furnishings marry elegance with practicality: faux leather bistro chairs in a colour palette to match the interiors, with polished gunmetal grey frames; square tables with rounded corners, black bases and lava stone effect tops.
Art plays a central role in the restaurant interior: the walls have been transformed into a showcase hosting pieces by Neapolitan artist Alberto Bottillo, in a visual story charting the city’s places, traditions and faces. Leitmotif for the entire room is the “heart”, symbolising the generosity and energy of Naples while acting as a universal metaphor for hospitality and food as an act of sharing.
