Our story is one of passion, ambition and determination. But above all it is a high-prestige story of hospitality that, step by step and challenge by challenge, has made us the largest Italian hotel chain operating in our country.
It all began in 2013, when Gruppo Unipol acquired Fondiaria SAI and then Atahotels, separating the property assets from the hotel management. Three years later, in 2016, Gruppo Unipol also acquired UNA Hotels & Resorts, once again separating the property assets from the hotel management. In the same year, the hotel management companies Atahotels and UNA Hotels & Resorts merged.
The union became official in 2018 with the birth of Gruppo UNA, which would go on to consolidate its position as a strategic hotel hub in the Italian hospitality industry. In 2025 the Group rebranded, adopting a new identity that highlights its link with the hospitality industry and its authentic Italian character at international level. UNA Italian Hospitality was established, the new umbrella brand of Gruppo UNA S.p.A., comprising the upper-upscale UNA Esperienze and upscale UNA Hotels collections.
Today, the largest Italian hotel chain has a total of 59 establishments, hotels and resorts in 30 destinations and 14 regions of Italy, with a single goal: to provide guests with unique and unforgettable stays in the real heart of Italy.
